In Keld “a sundial records the hours but time is measured in centuries” (Alfred Wainwright).
The Resource Centre at Keld is a registered charity working with the local community to make use of three Grade 2 listed buildings. The Literary Institute is open all year and is well worth visiting to gain an understanding of the history of Keld and it’s farming community.
The Resource Centre holds a number of events throughout the year, including the ‘Keld Festival’, guided walks, talks and presentations.
In the summer months refreshments are available at Rukins Campsite/ Tea Shop and Keld Lodge.
In the winter months a pop up self service Tea Room is open in the Public Hall with homemade cake donated by the residents of Keld. All donations go to the Keld Public Hall fund. For further information see our Facebook page Keld Public Hall – Swaledale.
