Dales Countryside Museum is housed in the converted Victorian railway station buildings in Hawes and is managed by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. The Hawes National Park Centre is also housed here.
The museum has a wonderful variety of exhibits which looks at the lives and landscape of the Yorkshire Dales over past centuries to the present day. There is plenty of interaction from dressing up to creating your own art in the adapted railway carriages. Displays in the museum demonstrate a range of themes including School Days, Farming and Local Crafts.
The Museum is free for children and also offers a range of educational activities. There are many events, workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions which run throughout the year.
