**Keld is situated on the crossroads of the popular Coast to Coast and Pennine Way long distance paths with limited accommodation. If you are able to schedule your walk so that you can avoid Keld at the weekend, you will have a much better chance of accommodation being available at Frith Lodge**

New for 2023 – Herriot Way T-Shirts in Organic Cotton

The Herriot Way is a 52 mile (84 km) long distance path that runs through some of the best scenery in the Yorkshire Dales including Wensleydale and stunning Swaledale.
This circular four day walk uses Aysgarth, Grinton, Hawes and Keld as stopping points. The walk is named after James Herriot, the fictional vet who lived and worked in the Dales. The book James Herriot’s Yorkshire describes parts of this walk and also features the track up to Frith Lodge on its inside cover!
This walk is either a fabulous introduction to walking in the Dales, a first long distance walk or some walkers use it as a ‘warm up’ to the Coast to Coast. Whatever your reason you will experience some of the most amazing Dales scenery. Stuart Greig has written a great guide to the Herriot Way available from herriotway.com

Frith Lodge is approximately 35 minutes walk from East Gill Force along the Pennine Way, we are unable to offer a collection from Keld so please be mindful of the extra walking distance when booking with us.
